Background.
Hello Justice is the first French company dedicated to funding mid‑market litigation, from a stake of €100,000 upwards. It pays the lawyer’s fees set out in the agreement and is paid out of the sums recovered, in the event of success only.
The company carries more than 500 live cases, engaged since 2024. They include individual cases over Swiss franc mortgage loans taken out between 2002 and 2015, handled as a series. That volume calls for disciplined client follow‑up and a platform that absorbs the repetitive work.
The team is made up of three founding partners and works with specialised partner lawyers. It is distributed and operates remotely.
The internship strengthens case analysis and loss quantification as the portfolio grows.
The role.
Case analysis and loss quantification
- Work through a case file: loan offer, amendments, amortisation schedules, settlement statements and bank correspondence.
- Rebuild a repayment schedule with the in‑house simulator and check the result against the bank’s own lines, to the cent.
- Identify ambiguous readings of a document and refer them to the partner in charge of the case.
- Prepare the figures used in analysis reports and check they stay consistent from one version to the next.
Case follow‑up and client relations
- Track cases in the back office, collect missing documents and call clients to obtain them.
- Answer client questions in the messaging area of their case.
- Prepare exchanges with partner lawyers and pass on the documents the proceedings require.
Monitoring published decisions
- Work with Vigie, our proprietary litigation detection algorithm, which spots series of similar disputes in published decisions. No client case is ever scored by it.
- Read the decisions kept, discard those that are off topic and document what deserves following.
- Write briefing notes on the lines of case law relevant to live cases.
Communications support
- Contribute to the company’s articles and social media posts.
- Help prepare the materials given to lawyers and to case introducers.
The profile we are looking for.
- Student in the fourth or fifth year of business school, business law or finance, looking for a gap‑year or final‑year internship.
- Genuinely comfortable with figures. An amortisation schedule and an interest calculation should not stop you.
- Documentary rigour. A figure that is not in a document is never invented.
- Precise written French, for briefing notes as much as for client correspondence.
- Discretion. The files handled contain confidential personal and financial information.
The skills expected.
- Solid Excel, in particular financial calculations and consistency checks on a repayment schedule.
- Everyday use of the Microsoft suite and Google Drive.
- Regular use of generative artificial intelligence tools for document analysis and summarising.
- Ability to read legal and banking documents, or a clear intention to learn.
Terms.
- Fully remote from anywhere in France, with no requirement to be on site.
- Directly supervised by the company’s president.
- Statutory internship allowance, and expenses incurred on assignment are covered.
- Computer equipment and access to professional tools provided.
The internship may lead to an apprenticeship or a permanent role, in line with the company’s needs and the person’s contribution.
The recruitment process.
- You send your application from the form on the posting, with your CV attached.
- We read every application and reply to you promptly, whether the answer is yes or no.
- A first interview with the company’s president, by video call, covering your background and the role.
- A short exercise on an anonymised case file, so we can see how you work and discuss it together.
- An interview with the partners, then the offer and, for an apprenticeship or an internship, the paperwork with your school.
