Provider

The services are provided by Hello Justice SAS (registered name HELLO JUSTICE), a société par actions simplifiée with share capital of €10,000, registered with the Lyon Trade and Companies Register under number 931 111 108, whose registered office is at 44 quater rue Saint‑Isidore, 69003 Lyon, France (EU VAT number FR86931111108). Contact: contact@hello-justice.com, +33 7 45 01 10 13.

Scope

These terms of sale apply to the services Hello Justice SAS provides to people who ask it to fund proceedings: the analysis of a case with a view to funding it, and the funding itself.

They apply neither to subscriptions for units of Hello Justice Capital 1, governed by its articles of association and by the documentation provided after eligibility has been verified, nor to relations with partner law firms, governed by their agreements, nor to the free services of the website, governed by the terms of use. Read the terms of use.

The agreement signed for a case prevails over these terms for everything it covers. These terms prevail over any other information published. No terms of the client apply without the written consent of Hello Justice SAS.

The applicable terms are those online on the day of the request. They are brought to your attention before any commitment and can be saved or printed from this page.

The role of Hello Justice SAS

Hello Justice SAS funds all or part of the costs of proceedings conducted by its client’s lawyer. Its commission, or the success fee provided for in the agreement, is only due if the case succeeds.

Hello Justice SAS is not a law firm. The client’s defence, the choice of arguments and the conduct of the proceedings belong to the client’s lawyer, who exercises them with full independence. Hello Justice SAS has neither a mandate to represent nor any power to give instructions.

No result is guaranteed: the outcome of proceedings is for the court to decide.

Case analysis

The eligibility test and the submission of a case are free of charge.

Outside the Swiss franc loan programme, the analysis of a case with a view to funding it is a fixed‑price service of €1,500 excluding VAT, that is €1,800 including VAT at the 20% rate. It results in a written report and a funding opinion, favourable or unfavourable.

The fixed fee pays for the analysis work: it is due whatever the opinion, and is not refunded after an unfavourable opinion.

The analysis is only started at your request, after its price has been announced to you and you have accepted it. When it is invoiced and, if your lawyer submits the request for you, who pays the fixed fee are stated before any commitment.

The funding opinion is a funder’s decision. It is not legal advice and does not prejudge the outcome of the dispute. An unfavourable opinion states its reasons. Hello Justice SAS remains free not to fund a case.

Swiss franc mortgages

For a Swiss franc mortgage, the eligibility of the case is analysed by ACTIVE AVOCATS, a firm of the COGEP group, and the price is as follows. The fee agreement signed for each accepted case sets it out.

Having your case checked is free, as are the eligibility test and the submission.

When your claim is opened, if it is accepted, you pay €300 incl. VAT for the procedural costs (stamp duty, judicial officer, local counsel).

Your lawyer’s fee at first instance is €3,000 incl. VAT. Hello Justice covers it according to the capital borrowed, and the rest is yours to pay.

A success fee of 14% incl. VAT is due if the case succeeds, and only then. It is charged on the sums recovered and on the saving obtained on the outstanding capital. The sums awarded under article 700 and the costs go to the lawyer. If the case fails, you repay nothing to Hello Justice.

If there is an appeal, your lawyer’s fee is €2,000 incl. VAT, covered on the same tier. Local counsel before the court of appeal is covered in full. You pay the €225 appeal duty and, if your loan exceeds €100,000, the rest of the fee.

What the agreement provides

The fee agreement is signed online by you, the lawyer and Hello Justice. The share of the fee that is borne is set in it when the case is accepted, on the amount borrowed in euros at signing, all your loans added together, and does not change afterwards. You have the right of withdrawal under articles L. 221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code. If the review shows that your claim is not eligible, the lawyer ends the agreement, at no cost to anyone. If the claim succeeds, the funds are paid to you once the decision is final, and the success fee is then taken from the lawyer’s CARPA account, the client‑money account supervised by the bar. If you take the claim away from the lawyer after the summons has been sent, the success fee remains due.

If the case fails

You repay nothing to Hello Justice, which keeps bearing the share of your lawyer’s fee it took on, and the success fee is only due if the case succeeds. You still bear the €300 incl. VAT of procedural costs paid when the case was opened, the part of your lawyer’s fee that is not borne if your loan exceeds €100,000 and, if there is an appeal, the €225 appeal duty. As in any lawsuit, the court may also order the losing party to pay the other side a procedural indemnity (article 700) and the costs of the proceedings.

Cases accepted before 5 October 2026 remain governed by the agreement signed for them.

Funding of other disputes

For any other dispute, the funding of an accepted case rests on an agreement signed by you, your lawyer and Hello Justice SAS.

  • Hello Justice SAS pays your lawyer’s fees set in the agreement.
  • The commission of Hello Justice SAS, from 14 to 30% including VAT of the sums recovered, is only due if the case succeeds. The agreement sets its rate before any commitment.
  • If the case fails, you repay nothing to Hello Justice SAS.

The agreement sets the extent of the funding, the commission rate and how the sums obtained are shared.

Agreement and formation of the contract

The funding of a case is the subject of a written agreement between you, your lawyer and Hello Justice SAS. It sets out each party’s obligations, what Hello Justice SAS funds, its remuneration and the conditions under which the funding ends.

The agreement is signed electronically. An electronic signature has the same value as a handwritten one (Articles 1366 and 1367 of the French Civil Code). You receive a copy. The contract is concluded in French.

No sum is due in respect of the funding before the agreement is signed.

Prices, invoicing and payment

Prices are stated in euros, excluding and including taxes, at the VAT rate in force on the invoice date.

Each sum due is invoiced, and the invoice is made available in your client area. It is paid by bank transfer, to the details it states, on receipt unless it states another due date.

A sum unpaid on its due date bears interest at the statutory rate from a formal notice.

Where the client is a business, any late payment automatically triggers penalties at the rate applied by the European Central Bank to its most recent refinancing operation plus ten percentage points, together with a fixed indemnity for recovery costs of €40 (Articles L. 441-10 and D. 441-5 of the French Commercial Code).

Right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer and the contract is concluded at a distance or off‑premises, you have fourteen days to withdraw, without giving any reason (Articles L. 221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code). The period runs from the conclusion of the contract.

To exercise it, send an unambiguous statement before the period expires to Hello Justice SAS, 44 quater rue Saint‑Isidore, 69003 Lyon, France, or to contact@hello-justice.com, for example using the form below. For a case in the Swiss franc loan programme, this form is also attached to the fee agreement.

If you expressly ask for the service to start before the period ends, you may still withdraw, but you pay an amount proportionate to what has been provided until you communicate your decision (Article L. 221-25). You can no longer withdraw once the service has been fully performed before the period ends, at your express request and after you have acknowledged losing this right (Article L. 221-28, 1°).

Hello Justice SAS refunds the sums received, less any such proportionate amount, no later than fourteen days after being informed of your decision, using the means of payment you used (Article L. 221-24).

Withdrawal form

Please complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract.

Liability

Hello Justice SAS is liable for the performance of its own obligations. It is liable neither for the conduct of the proceedings, which belongs to the lawyer, nor for the court’s decision.

Towards a business client, its liability is limited to direct and foreseeable damage and cannot exceed the sums that client has paid to it in respect of the case concerned.

These limits do not apply to a consumer client, in the event of gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or to personal injury. No party is liable for a failure due to force majeure within the meaning of Article 1218 of the French Civil Code.

Confidentiality and personal data

Hello Justice SAS treats as confidential the information and documents you send it. It discloses them only to your lawyer, to the people acting on its behalf in the review or funding of the case who are bound by confidentiality, and to the authorities where the law requires. It only discloses them to its own funders in a form that does not identify you.

Hello Justice SAS sends nothing to the opposing party. If proceedings are brought, your lawyer communicates to the court and to the opposing party the documents that the rules of procedure require.

Your personal data is processed as described in the privacy policy.

Complaints and mediation

Complaints should be sent in writing to Hello Justice SAS, at contact@hello-justice.com or 44 quater rue Saint‑Isidore, 69003 Lyon, France.

If you are a consumer, you may refer a dispute with Hello Justice SAS free of charge to a consumer mediator for amicable resolution, after sending it a written complaint (Articles L. 611-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code).

A dispute about your lawyer’s fees falls under the procedure specific to the legal profession, before the president (bâtonnier) of the lawyer’s bar (Articles 174 et seq. of Decree No. 91-1197 of 27 November 1991).

Governing law

These terms and the contracts they govern are subject to French law. A dispute with a consumer falls within the jurisdiction designated by the statutory rules, in particular that of the place where the consumer lived when the contract was concluded. In other cases, and where the law allows, the courts of Lyon have sole jurisdiction.

The French version prevails.
